Woman Killed in Attempted Carjacking: Houston Police

A woman sadly lost her life when two men on bicycles attempted an apparent carjacking. The Houston police are investigating the “BMX” bike suspects. Here is everything you need to know about the case.

It was a seemingly typical day for a Texan woman when she went to a southwest Houston gas station with two other people. Little did she know that she would be attacked and killed by two men.

The crime took place around 11:30 p.m. on Monday night.

Houston police have revealed that two male suspects on bicycles stopped at a gas station on Bissonnet located near Leewood. The victim arrived at the Valero station as a passenger in a “BMW” sedan. The two men who were with her got out and went into the store, leaving her waiting in the front passenger seat.

Within a few minutes, two guys on BMX bikes stopped on either side of the car the victim was in. It first appeared they were trying to steal the car, but they ended up shooting the woman when she put up a struggle. They fled without taking the BMW.

The victim was taken to a hospital, but succumbed to her injuries. Her identity and the identities of the men she was travelling with have not yet been released.

Lieutenant W.L. Meeler said, “Just absolutely senseless. This woman was here minding her own business when these gentleman [sic] came up and viciously shot her. Like I said, their descriptions are very distinct. We’re releasing the pictures of them.”

Five hours after the incident took place, the gas station was taped off for further investigation.

Surveillance photos of the two BMX bike suspects have been released. One man, wearing a bright pink hoodie, was riding a black bike. The second suspect was wearing a black shirt over a gray hoodie. In the photo, it looks like he’s wearing green pajamas and riding a blue bike.

Police have requested that people come forward if they have seen the male suspects or have any information about the shooting. Call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
