Two Arrested in St. Louis for Photographing a Young Girl in a Mall Restroom: Also Charged with Sodomy

Disturbing news was revealed after an arrest in St. Louis, Missouri on Monday (March 12). Heather McDorman and Zachary Hamby were arrested for allegedly taking pictures of a young girl at a mall restroom and sharing it with each other. Here are the details.

McDoraman lives in Barnhart, St. Louis. Though there are no details of her having a criminal record, she faces multiple charges, and is reportedly married with a son. Details about Hamby’s background are currently unknown. The duo face sodomy and invasion of privacy charges.

Who Is Heather McDorman?

Heather McDorman, 29, was arrested after she was caught talking a picture of an 11-year-old girl at the South County Mall restroom in St. Louis.

After she was taken into custody, McDorman confessed, adding that Zachary Hamby told her to take pictures of underage girls and share them with him. Police are investigating the details and want anyone whose children may have been victimized to contact authorities. She is being held on a $250,000 bond.

On Heather McDorman’s Facebook page, she lists that she was born and raised in Missouri. She went to Seckman High School and after graduating, attended Vatterott College.

In 2012, she quit her job and got engaged. By 2013, she was married and welcomed her son, Ian, whom she shares a lot of pictures of on social media.

She listed her current employer as Thrive, a woman’s health clinic. She previously had jobs at KFC, Panera Bread, and the Windsor C-1 School District.

Who Is Zachary Hamby?

Zachary Hamby, 28, is from Florissant, St. Louis. During an interview with the St. Louis County Police, he admitted to making McDorman take pictures of girls and share them with him.

Hamby has had previous run-ins with the law, and is also being held on a $250,000 bond.

He was reportedly arrested in 2014 for impersonating a police officer, and has a history of abuse, for which he was given a restraining order. On Zachary Hamby’s Instagram account, which was last updated in 2014, he listed himself as a storm chaser for the National Weather Service in Morristown, Tennessee.

Though he has both Facebook and Twitter, much like his Instagram, those accounts are not regularly updated.

How Were McDorman and Hamby Arrested?

The St. Louis County Police Department are still investigating the details of this case after Heather McDorman was arrested mid-afternoon on March 12, 2018.

She was caught taking pictures of a little girl in a mall restroom at 100 South County Center Way. The duo admitted to their wrongdoings, adding that they photographed more girls across the region.

Both also admitted to sexually abusing a four-year-old boy, according to police. Details of that confession are yet to be disclosed, but the two are now facing sodomy charges separate to this case.

Heather McDorman and Zachary Hamby were also being charged with invasion of privacy.
