Just after 6:15 a.m. on April 11, sheriff’s deputies received word about a shooting at a residence located at 182 Lonon Road in the North Cove area of McDowell County.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered three bodies; two men and a woman. After an examination of the scene, officials have currently listed the incident as a “shooting investigation.” They believe the male who called 911 about the shooting may be one of the victims.

The victims have been identified as Christopher Scott Childres (49), Jeffrey Dale Haney (48), and his estranged wife Kacey Case Haney (39). The address where the shooting took place is listed as Jeffrey Haney’s residence. Officials believe he shot Childres and Kacey Haney before calling police, and turning the gun on himself.
