A Suspicious Death
Police in Round Rock, Texas were called to a home in the 2600 block of Leslie Court for a welfare check on December 30, 2017. The call had been made by concerned co-workers of 44-year-old Tonya Bates as well as Bates’ boyfriend.
At first, the police observed nothing out of the ordinary. When police entered the premises, they found Bates dead.
While police have not released the cause of death, they have stated that it is of a suspicious nature.
In a further troubling development, Bates’ two daughters were missing, as was her roommate.

Officials are asking people to be on the lookout for the following:
- 14-year-old Lilianais Victoria Cake Griffith. She is said to be a white female, 5’0″, 100 lbs, with dirty blonde hair, brown eyes, a right nose stud, and braces.
- 7-year-old Luluvioletta Bandera-Margret has been described as a white female, 7-years-old, weighing 75 lbs at 4’5″, with curly brown hair, and brown eyes.
It is currently unknown as to what either child was wearing at the time of their disappearance. There is a strong reason to believe that the two girls are in the company of Terry Allen Miles, Bates’ roommate.
Terry Miles is described as a 44-year-old white male, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is approximately 6 ‘2″, and 200 lbs. He is known to wear glasses and sport a beard.
Miles may be driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Accent with Texas license plate number JGH9845.
In addition to the alleged kidnapping, Miles is also a person of interest in the death of Tonya Bates.
The last possible sightings of all three missing people were in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Police feel that the children are in grave or immediate danger.
People with any information on the location of the two girls or any information that may help police with this case are asked to call the Round Rock Police Department at 512-218-5516.
