Texas Roadhouse Shooting in San Antonio: 6-Year-Old Among 4 People Gunned Down

San Antonio, Texas has been witness to yet another shooting rampage. Four people were shot in front of a local restaurant; one of the victims was a six-year-old boy. There are no fatalities yet. The officials haven’t captured the shooter at this time.

Four people were gunned down with a semiautomatic handgun, outside the Texas Roadhouse, in San Antonio. An entire magazine was emptied into the four family members. Read on to find out more about this developing story.

What Happened in San Antonio?

The call about an active shooter came around 8:45 p.m. on February 18, 2018. The San Antonio Police Department responded to the scene. When they arrived, the shooter was gone.

A masked gunman had opened fire from 15 feet in front of the eatery, emptying the magazine. The male suspect sprayed 10 bullets from a semiautomatic handgun into four Hispanic family members. In the process, the gunfire punctured holes in the wall of Texas Roadhouse, too. However, no one inside the restaurant was hit.

Police Chief William McManus said that two of the Texas shooting victims were women, one was a man, and one a six-year-old child.  As of now, the victims’ identities are not being released due to it being an active investigation.

The three adults were confirmed to be in their 20s.

The victims were all rushed to a nearby hospital. Two of the adult victims had sustained life-threatening injuries. One adult and the child had non-life-threatening injuries, with the little boy being wounded in the leg.

The Texas Roadhouse shooting victims are all in stable condition now.

 

Who Was the Shooter?

The officials are in search of a male suspect who ran through a hotel and escaped, after gunning down the four people waiting outside the restaurant to eat.

The description of the San Antonio shooter is vague at the moment, as the police chief said he was “covered.”

However, McManus said, “We do not believe that this shooting was random.”

The authorities are combing through CCTV footage from around the area, to try to make sense of the incident. They are planning to interview all the witnesses at the crime scene.

While many think it may have been a family violence situation and that the shooter may have been related to the victims,the police have not made a statement about that.
