Mother’s Day Shooting in Stockton Claims Lives of 5-Year-Old Girl & Her Parents

Shortly after 10:15 p.m. on May 13, police in Stockton, California responded to a shots fired call. When they arrived, they found five victims; one was pronounced dead at the scene, two others died shortly after, and two are currently in hospital with gunshot wounds.

The shots were fired directly into a home where five people were reportedly gathered for a Mother’s Day celebration. The deceased victims are a five-year-old girl and both of her parents. The father reportedly died at the scene, while the child and mother lost their lives in hospital.

Homicide Investigation Underway

The shooting occurred near 11th and Belleview Streets, at the Sierra Vista Homes complex. The two surviving victims, both male, are currently being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police confirm that the shots were fired from outside of the home, and one male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, information about the victims and possible suspects are unknown, nor is there any information on a motive for the attack.

Neighbors claim that the sound of gunshots is common in the area, but this shooting was different. One added that they may have seen a shooter flee the scene.
