One Dead in Stabbing at a Deltona Burger King, Person of Interest Detained

Volusia County officials have detained a person of interest after a man was stabbed at a Deltona Burger King. The investigation is still ongoing.

Satisfying midnight hunger turned deadly for one man who was stabbed around 2:31 a.m. on April 3 at the Burger King located at 2790 Elkcam Blvd. Officials said that a deputy was alerted.

The victim, an adult male, was immediately rushed to Halifax Health hospital. But, at around 3:25 a.m., he was pronounced dead.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s office, they have a person of interest currently detained. Right now, officials are speaking to eye-witnesses and the investigation is ongoing.

At this time, neither the identities of the victim nor the person of interest have been revealed.  It is also not known what caused the altercation between the two individuals.
