
On the night of Tuesday, May 1, a suspect was taken to hospital in critical condition after he was shot by Lenexa, Kansas officials. More details on the case are given below.
According to reports, on Tuesday at around 7:40 p.m., Lenexa police officers were in pursuit of a driver in a stolen vehicle after a routine traffic stop in a parking lot at 15920 W 87th Street Parkway.

The driver did not cooperate with police officers and ended up ramming three police vehicles near 87th Street and Maurer Road.
One of the officers fired his gun multiple times, but at this time, it’s unknown how many shots were fired.
A suspect fled the scene, and the chase came to an end near West 81st Place and Bittersweet Drive. After the incident, three officials were taken to the hospital for examination. According to tweets by Lenexa police, none of the officers had suffered grave injuries.

After the suspect was shot, officers performed life-saving measures on him before transporting him to hospital, where he is being treated for a critical gunshot wound. The suspect could be facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault or battery, depending on his intent.
According to one tweet by a witness, seven shots were heard.
Currently, the suspect’s name and motive are unknown. The Johnson County Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation Team is looking into the case.
