Norton, MA Residents Told to Stay Indoors as SWAT Team Descends on Housing Complex

In a developing story, Norton, MA residents have been told to remain indoors while SWAT deals with an alleged barricade situation.

Residents in the bucolic town of Norton, Massachusetts are being told to stay inside due to “police activity.”

Dozens of heavily armed officers and the Southeastern Massachusetts Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT team descended on a housing complex on Norton Glen Road where an individual is believed to have barricaded himself in an apartment.

“There is police activity at Norton Glen Road. We ask residents to please stay inside,” the Norton police force said in a 9:30 a.m. tweet.

While those on the ground say the area is very active, Norton police are not offering any additional details or revealing the nature of the situation.
