Indiana State Police have arrested a man named Dylan Cooper from Mount Vernon on charges of child molestation. The investigation began in February, and Cooper was arrested on March 7. Mount Vernon Man Arrested
Indiana State Police released a press statement reporting the arrest of Dylan Cooper, 23, from Mount Vernon. Cooper is charged with several counts of child molestation and sexual misconduct with a minor.
According to the statement, Indiana police began investigating Cooper when they received information that he sexually abused a resident of Posey County several years ago. Detective Wes Kuykendall initiated a criminal investigation into Cooper’s misconduct on February 26.
The victim has been identified as a male juvenile. The investigation revealed that Cooper sexually abused the victim on several occasions between 2014 and 2015. At that time, the victim was reportedly under the age of 14 while Cooper was at least 18.
On March 7, Det. Kuykendall served an arrest warrant after Cooper agreed to turn himself in at Posey County Jail.
He is charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor. He’s currently being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
