Idaho Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Relationship with a Student

Idaho authorities arrested a high school teacher, Rebecca Mason-Cales. The Mountain View High School teacher allegedly had a sexual relationship with a student.

Rebecca Mason-Cales was arrested on February 13 in Meridian, Idaho. She was a teacher at a local high school where she allegedly had a sexual relationship with a student. She’s facing several counts of sexual battery of a minor. Read all about Rebecca Mason-Cales here.

High School Teacher Arrested

26-year-old Rebecca Mason-Cales of Boise was a German and U.S. History teacher at Mountain View High School in Meridian, Idaho. According to the school website, she graduated from Boise State University in 2015.

She was arrested on Tuesday after Meridian police found evidence that she had sex with a 17-year-old male student. She is facing six felony counts of sexual battery of a minor child.


The police said that someone sent an anonymous email to the West Ada School District which Mountain View High School is a part of. The email stated that Mason-Cales had a possible sexual relationship with a student.

The district contacted local police who then launched an investigation. Authorities gathered undisclosed evidence that Mason-Cales had a sexual relationship with a teenage boy since August 2017. Police do not believe there are more victims at this time.

Mason-Cales was active on Facebook and frequently posted selfies. According to her page, she is married, and her husband lives in Denver, Colorado.

She has written on her Facebook page that she’s a lover of all things German and also took a trip to Germany recently.

She is currently booked into Ada County Jail. If convicted, she could be facing life imprisonment.
