19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday afternoon killing several people. 17 have been reported dead so far. Out of the 14 injured, five reportedly have life-threatening injuries.
Hours after Cruz’s arrest, families and friends are still waiting to hear from their loved ones. According to the Broward County sheriff, 12 out of the 17 reported dead have been identified.
But more victims remain unaccounted for. The victims’ families have taken matters into their own hands and turned to social media. They are now posting pictures and descriptions with contact details hoping Internet denizens will help track them.
Among the missing victims is Meadow Pollack. The 18-year-old is a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Her father, Andrew, has camped outside the hospital with a cellphone in hand waiting for news on Meadow.
“We can’t locate her. I keep looking at my phone,” he said. “I don’t know where to go from here.” Pollack said her phone keeps ringing but nobody answers.
Meadow’s cousin has tweeted her picture asking Twitter users to help find the missing teen. The family has even shared details about Meadow who was all set to attend Lynn University. Her cousin, Robyn Maisner, posted a picture on Facebook appealing for help.
