Massillon Police Department Release Photos of Missing Child and His Grandmother

Update: Both the infant and his grandmother were found on May 11 at approximately 4:00 a.m. Police confirm that the two were safe on a street curb, but did not disclose details about their whereabouts on Thursday.

The Massillon Police Department is searching high and low for a missing baby and his grandmother. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating them.

A seven-month-old boy named Malachi Ferguson is missing. The child is described as a white male with blue eyes and blond hair. He was last seen on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at around 11:00 a.m.

Malachi was last seen with his grandmother, Angela Ferguson, who drives a teal 1993 Ford Taurus with Ohio licence plate number: HEE7726. Police are urging anyone with information on the child or grandmother’s whereabouts to contact Massillon Police Department at 330-832-9811.

Many are wondering why an Amber Alert was not issued for the child. The Massillon Police Department responded to those questions, saying that they don’t currently have enough information about the incident for an Amber Alert to be issued.

The department added that the Amber Alert system is not handled by them.

Police have not revealed if the child or his grandmother is in any danger, only that they are missing. The investigation is still ongoing, and residents are hoping for the safe return of both Malachi Ferguson and Angela Ferguson.
