Man Wanted by New York City Police for Attempted Rape Charges

The NYPD are on the hunt for a man who attempted to rape a woman not too far from her home. They are armed with security camera footage, and a description of their suspect.

Details on the Attack

According to New York City police, on Sunday, May 6, at approximately 5:40 am, a man came up behind a 34-year-old woman as she tried to enter her apartment building near West 215 Street and Broadway, not too far from the 207 Street subway station.

The man reportedly reached up her skirt and placed a hand over her mouth. The woman still managed to scream, and struggled against her attacker, eventually managing to get out of his grip and into her building, locking the door behind her.

Due to the close proximity of the subway station, the NYPD not only have a good description of the suspect but photos as well. The suspect is a black male, 6’0″ tall, and approximately 150 pounds. He appears to be bald and was seen wearing a black t-shirt with a design on the front, and blue jeans at the time.
