Students Shot at Salvador Castro Middle School in LA; Female Suspect in Custody

At least two students were shot after a female student opened fire in a classroom at Salvador Castro Middle School in Los Angeles, CA Thursday morning.

LAPD received a report of shots fired at around 8:55 a.m. The victims are described as a 15-year-old male, who is in critical condition, and a 15-year-old female, who is listed as being in fair condition. Both were transported to a trauma center.

A 30-year-old woman, who was not shot, sustained unspecified minor injuries.

Video footage from a news helicopter showed a young female with dark hair and wearing a sweatshirt being led out of the school by LAPD officers in handcuffs and into a squad car. Her identity and age are not yet known. A gun was also recovered.

Police say the situation is under control.
