John Russell Hall Wanted in Murder of Pikeville Officer Scotty Hamilton

Pikeville police have issued an arrest warrant John Russell Hall in connection with the murder of Officer Scotty Hamilton.

On Tuesday (March 13) night, while investigating a stolen car, Officer Scotty Hamilton was shot several times, including once in the head. He was killed at the scene. Two days later, Pikeville police issued a warrant for John Russell Hall. He has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and is wanted for questioning in connection with the death of Officer Hamilton.

Hall is described as white, approximately 5’8″ in height, with green eyes and brown hair. He may be sporting a beard.

John Hall may be driving a 1990 Chevy Blazer. His last known address is 3954 Hurricane Road. While he is from Pikeville, Hall may have fled the county.
