How Did Jennifer Disappear?

The Houston Police Department have not released many details about the case, but have confirmed that they are now investigating it as a possible abduction.

Jennifer, who is Hispanic with family in Honduras, is described as having curly brown hair, and was last seen at around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. She is approximately 5’0″, weighs 100 pounds, and has brown eyes.

A press conference was held earlier this morning, where Houston Police briefed the media with updates on her disappearance.

“As far as we know, there was a credible threat to life that was made,” explained an official in the statement given at the press conference. Detectives have added that there has been communication made since she was taken and they are taking the possibility of a kidnapping seriously as they have received what they are calling a “credible threat.”

“Some of the content of the messages did indicate that she was fearful at the time—fearful of whoever her captures were,” explained one of the detectives. He added that she was not able to make direct contact but there were indications heard in the background that made it seem like she was fearful at the time. Detectives did not give further details as to whether or not this contact was made via a direct phone call or not.

Police are also publicly urging Jennifer Castillo herself to reach out and make contact if she can, assuring her that she is not in any trouble and they just want to confirm her safety. They have even urged her to reach out to her Las Americas Middle School case worker if she prefers. They do believe she is somewhere within the region though they do not have any suspects at this time.

No other information has been provided about her disappearance. Police are combing surveillance camera footage for a vehicle she may have gotten into and are urging anyone who knows anything to come forward.

Since the investigation is still ongoing, information about Jennifer Castillo’s disappearance is still coming in.
