Howard Mullis Wiki: Man Accused of Kidnapping 3 Children in Stolen SUV

An Amber Alert launched in Ohio on Friday led to the manhunt for Howard Mullis, who thought he was just stealing a car. What he didn’t know was that he kidnapped three children at the same time. In this Howard Mullis wiki, we’ll look at the search for Mullis, the three kids, as well as what we know Mullis and his past.

An Amber Alert and a Man on the Run

In Colerain Township, Ohio, Courtney Wells quickly hopped out of his SUV to run into a convenience store. He left four-year-old Cameron Wells, three-year-old Camiyah Fields, and one-year-old Laiyah Wells inside the car. He wasn’t going to be long, so thought they were going to be fine.

He wasn’t inside more than 30 seconds when a man who was sitting in front of the store all morning ran up to the still running SUV, hoped in and sped off.

Wells quickly spotted the SUV being stolen and, with the help of a good Samaritan, hopped into a car and gave chase to the SUV with the three children inside. Wells called 911 and alerted the police to what was going on. Soon, he and the Samaritan lost the SUV. An Amber Alert was quickly issued at 1:50 p.m.

The SUV Found

Around 4:30 p.m., an employee of America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, located at 8401 Colerain Ave, noticed a silver 2004 Volkswagen Touareg that matched the description of the vehicle from the Amber Alert.

The police were called and luckily, all three children were found inside the car, safe and sound. In the meantime, a manhunt began for 33-year-old Howard Mullis.

Mullis was found at approximately at 5:30 p.m. in a wooded area near the Walmart plaza where the America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses is located.
