Football Reporter Courtney Roland Found Unharmed after Disappearance

On January 7, 2018, a Texas football reporter texted her friend saying she was being followed; after that, she went missing. On January 8, she was found alive and unharmed. What happened to Courtney Roland? We have the latest information.

Courtney Roland’s Disappearance

Courtney Roland is well-known to those who follow Texas A&M’s football team. She’s been reporting on their games for web sites and The 29-year-old was hard to miss with her infectious smile and thorough knowledge of the sport.

Roland left a Team Texas Elite football tryout via Uber at 4:00 p.m. on January 6. Much later at 12:30 a.m. January 7, Roland reportedly texted a friend to say she was being followed by a blue truck. It’s at that point that Roland went missing in Houston.

The Evidence Mounts

A social media campaign was launched to help search for Roland. Texas football players, friends, and associates started tweeting with pleas for information using the hashtag #HelpFindCourtney. Police began searching for her.

Her father Steve Roland said, “If somebody has her, we just want to tell them that we love you too. And I know Courtney would be praying for you because that’s the way she was. She cared about other people.”

Her Jeep Cherokee was located in the early hours of January 8. In it, the police found her phone and some personal items.

At a nearby mall, her purse, iPad, computer, and credit cards were found. Things were starting to look very bad for Roland.

Roland Recovered

Later on January 8, a passerby recognized Roland from the news and reported to police that she had been spotted under an overpass in Richmond, Texas.

The police responded and found her to be unharmed, but she was taken to hospital for an evaluation.

Which brings us to the question: what happened to Courtney Roland? Police said they believe Roland became confused after a reaction to medication she was taking. She has no memory of what happened to her. Police do not suspect any foul play.
