A man is dead and a woman has been arrested after a fatal stabbing on Wheeler Road in Augusta, Georgia.

Police Find an Early Morning Murder
Details are still few and far between, but according to police, Richmond County deputies arrived at Wheeler Road at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, to find a man bleeding heavily.
54-year-old Darryl Chestnut was stabbed multiple times and had to be transported to Augusta University Medical Center. Chestnut later passed away in the hospital due to his injuries.
An Argument Leads to a Stabbing
Officers on the scene quickly discovered that their main suspect was 25-year-old Sade Hogan. According to police, Hogan and Chestnut were drinking at the scene of the crime along with another woman.
Allegedly, Hogan and Chestnut began arguing about something, and when Chestnut tried to calm Hogan down, she stabbed him.
Hogan has been arrested and charged with murder and the possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. Hogan is currently being held at Charles B. Webster Detention Center, awaiting her first court date.
