A drive-by shooting in Pierce County, Washington left a woman dead.

Police Were Called Too Late
Responding to reports of shots being fired, Pierce County Deputies arrived at 30900 block of Webster Road East, near the area of 309th Street East in Eatonville. Upon their early morning arrival, police discovered an elderly woman, dead at the address, apparently the victim of a drive-by shooting. Approximately eight to 10 rounds were fired during the shooting.

As of this writing, there are no other details about the case including possible suspects, description of the vehicle, or identity of the victim.
Two Murders within 24-Hours
While this murder occurred in the early hours of Monday (March 26) morning, it was the second of two murders to occur in Pierce County within a 24-hour period. A 22-year-old man was shot to death by his cousin in the South Hill neighborhood of Puyallup.
While the two events are reportedly unrelated, it was an unusual amount of violent crime in the area for that short of a time period.
