In Fayette County, Pennsylvania, Dustin Thomas Newell has been charged with attempted murder after he attacked Noell R. Brown, and tried to kill her.
This is the latest on the stabbing, and Newell’s arrest.
Police Respond to a Call about a Stabbing
Just before 9:30 p.m. on Thursday (April 6), Fayette County police responded to a call regarding a stabbing. When they arrived at the residence near 100 block of Upper Hulltown Road in Lower Tyrone Township, they discovered Noell Brown with a stab wound to her chest.
According to 24-year-old Brown, she tried to leave a residence after having an argument with 25-year-old Dustin Newell. As she tried to leave, Newell reportedly stabbed her in the left side of the chest.
Afterward, Newell returned to the residence where he allegedly attempted to kill himself as well, but was unsuccessful.
Hospital Trips and Charges Laid
Brown was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Her condition is currently unknown. Newell was brought to Highland Hospital and treated. Upon his release, Newell was arrested and charged with a number of offenses, including attempted homicide and aggravated assault. As of this writing, he currently sits in placed in the Fayette County Jail. No court dates are currently known.
