Riders on Chicago’s Blue Line train were held up on May 7 after it was discovered that one of its passengers was stabbed while riding inbound near the Racine station. This is the latest on the incident and Chicago police’s investigation.
Attack on the CTA Platform
Currently, Chicago police are not releasing much information about the incident as the investigation is still ongoing. However, it was reported that, at approximately 7:22 a.m. on May 7, a 34-year-old man was stabbed after an argument. The victim suffered what police are calling a “superficial wound” to his abdomen.
The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. It is expected he will make a full recovery. Meanwhile, the CTA Blue Line was temporarily delayed, but service soon resumed to normal levels by 8:00 a.m.
Looking for the Suspect
According to police, the suspect is a black male, suspected of being in his 30s. He is approximately 6’4″ tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, blue jeans, and Nike gym shoes.
