Charles Eldridge Wiki: Could this Confessed Child Molester Be the Delphi Killer?

Charles Eldridge, 46, was arrested on January 8, 2019 by an undercover detective posing as a 13-year-old after the pair met online. They allegedly agreed to meet up and have sex in Union City, Indiana. When Eldridge arrived, he was arrested. After the news broke and his mugshot was circulated, people started to notice a resemblance between Eldridge and the Delphi Killer, the person believed to be responsible for the unsolved murders of Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14, on February 13, 2017.

Read this Charles Eldridge wiki for all the up-to-date information on his arrest and the investigation into the Delphi Killer.

Who Is Charles Eldridge?

Charles Andrew Eldridge was born January 6, 1973.

If his social media posts are any indication, it’s safe to say that Eldridge loves God, guns, President Trump, and the military. He also has a penchant for posting stories on Facebook about missing children, sex crimes, murder, and wanted killers.

He even uploaded a couple of stories about the Delphi Killer in the days immediately after the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were found on Valentine’s Day in Delphi, Indiana in 2017.

Eldridge actually has two Facebook accounts.

Facebook Profile No. 1

In one, his profile picture shows him wearing a white hat, a small hawk perched on his hand. His cover photo is of the American flag.

Eldridge describes himself as being from Muncie, Indiana and single. Occupationally, Eldridge says he has worked as a security guard at Omniplex World Services and also worked as an in-home housekeeper/babysitter. Family members on Facebook include a brother, David, and sister, Polly.

Some of the photos on this particular Facebook profile show Eldridge grinning into the camera, wearing camouflage, and hiking, as well as vultures feasting on a body, bloody knives and tools on a work station, and a painting of a character from the Angry Birds game on a hand grenade.

On February 22, 2017, Eldridge shared a story with an image of the suspected Delphi Killer.

And on February 24, one week after the bodies of German and Williams were found, Eldridge uploaded a link to a story detailing how police had recovered DNA evidence from the Delphi killings.

Facebook Profile No. 2

In the second Facebook profile, Charles Eldridge’s profile picture is actually of the alien/monster from the Predator movies. The cover photo is of two vultures snacking on human remains; the image is clearly doctored.

This profile only lists two friends, one of whom is actually Eldridge’s other Facebook profile. Most of the photos Eldridge uploaded on this profile page are of the Predator, military men in camouflage, and a sniper.

In this profile, Eldridge says he is from Union City, Indiana, went to Monroe Central Jr-Sr. High School, and studied at Ivy Tech Community College, Central Indiana Region.

Eldridge also says he worked at Omniplex World Services. He lists his current employer as being Impact Bail Bonds, a place where he has worked since April 2009. But on January 8, 2019, someone posted on his timeline, stating that “Charles Eldridge is not or never was associated or have worked for IMPACT Bail Bonds.”

It may be that the company just wants to distance itself from Eldridge.

On January 21, someone posted a picture on his timeline showing Eldridge in the backseat of a vehicle; a person in the front passenger seat is clearly seen wearing an IMPACT Bail Bonds T-shirt. It’s not known if he ever worked for IMPACT, but it certainly appears as though he knew people who did.

Under “Details About Charles,” he writes, “if you know me…then you know.”

On this profile, Eldridge also posts numerous stories about missing children, Christianity, the military, politics, social issues, and videos of, it would seem, some of his favorite music.

January 8, 2019: Eldridge Arrested in Sting Operation

Charles Eldridge was arrested by the Randolph County Sheriffs Department in the early hours of Tuesday, January 8, 2019 after being caught trying to have sex with a minor.

An undercover detective pretending to be a 13-year-old connected with Eldridge on social media. They agreed to meet up for sex at an undisclosed location in Union City. When Eldridge got there, he was arrested by several officers.

They took Eldridge to the Randolph County Jail, where police say, while being questioned, he told them he had committed sexual acts with another minor younger than 13 on numerous occasions.

He has been charged with two counts of child molestation, one count of attempted child molestation, and one count of child solicitation. Eldridge is being held without bond.

Photo of Charles Eldridge Compared to Delphi Killer

Not long after Eldridge’s mugshot began appearing online, people began to notice how he resembles a sketch of the suspected Delphi Killer, the man police say is responsible for murdering Abigail Williams and Liberty German.

The composite sketch, provided by the FBI, was released in July 2017. The killer is described as being a white male, between 5’6″ and 5’10”, weighing between 180 and 220 pounds, and with reddish-brown hair.

Just before the abduction of the two girls, Libby German, likely sensing danger, recorded audio on her cell phone and took a picture of a man who may have been following the two girls. Input from others in the area that day were combined with this image to help investigators create the composite drawing of the suspected Delphi Killer.

Authorities Release Statement

Inundated by calls, authorities with Delphi’s multi-agency team, made up of members of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, the FBI, and the Indiana State Police, released the following statement:

“The Delphi multi-agency investigative team, and participating agencies continue to receive media and public inquiries asking about the person arrested January 8, 2019, in Union City, Randolph County Indiana for allegations of sexually related crimes against children and if he is connected to the Delphi investigation. The team is aware of this arrest and will investigate to see if there could be any connection to the murders that occurred in Delphi, Indiana on February 14th of 2017. The victims were 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams. Delphi is located about 20 miles northeast of Lafayette.

It is important for the public and media to know that many similar tips and arrests of other persons alleged to be connected to the Delphi murders occur with some frequency in and outside of Indiana.  Each tip—whether it receives media attention or not—is investigated for any connection to the Delphi case. That said, members of the Delphi multi-agency investigative team do not speak to specific actions or steps of the ongoing investigation.”

“We know it’s hard for the public and media to resist posting side-by-side comparisons on social media of people who are alleged to have committed heinous crimes and also resemble the sketch of the Delphi murder suspect,” said Captain David Bursten, Chief Public Information Officer for the Indiana State Police.

Bursten added, “The only positive result from these actions is it keeps this open investigation in the mind of the public. What we really appreciate is when the public submits their tip information to either the tip email address of [email protected] or calls the tip line at (844) 459-5786 to pass along their information.”

Bursten ended the statement by promising to let everyone know when an arrest is made in the Delphi Murders case.

All Delphi Killer Tips Are Investigated

Police in Delphi are indeed investigating whether or not Charles Andrew Eldridge is connected to the Delphi killings.

“The reality is law enforcement, even if they think he’s the right guy, what evidence do they have to prove he is the right guy?” said former FBI Agent Brad Garrett.

Indiana State Police noted, “Many similar tips and arrests of other persons alleged to be connected to the Delphi murders occur with some frequency.” All of them are investigated.

There is still a reward of more than $200,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer. Anyone with information on the deaths of Abigail Williams and Liberty German is asked to pass it along via e-mail to [email protected] or call the tip line at 844- 459-5786.
