In Houston, Texas, Carolina Flores has been found brutally murdered and her six-week old daughter has disappeared. Authorities are seeking help from the public to find the child before it’s too late.
The Murder of Carolina Flores
Carolina Flores, a migrant from Honduras, was found dead of multiple stab wounds in her Houston apartment on December 19, 2017.
Details of the crime are mostly being kept under wraps, but it was revealed that the victim’s nephew discovered the body. The nephew also lives in the apartment in the Greenspoint neighborhood of Houston.
Flores’ infant daughter, Shanally Flores, was nowhere to be found.
Amber Alert for the Missing Child
An Amber Alert has been issued for Shanally. She is described as being two-foot-six and weighing 20 pounds. She is described as being Honduran and possibly black or mixed race.

Police initially believed that Shanally was with her father, Thomas Bernardez. They found Bernardez in San Antonio and he told them he had nothing to do with Flores’ death or his daughter’s disappearance.
He has been ruled out as a person of interest and there is currently no new suspect information.
Jenny Lopez, a cousin of Carolina Flores, told reporters that Flores had been acting differently in the last few weeks. She seemed afraid, but Lopez said her cousin was reluctant to speak to police since she was in the United States illegally.
Flores has been described as a hard-working woman who juggled two jobs to support herself and her child. Lopez said she “came from nothing. Came out here to provide for her kids and to get something out of life because in Honduras there’s nothing. She came out here to get something.”
If you have any information about the murder or missing child, you are urged to contact the Houston Police Department at (713) 308-3600 or Houston Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
