BREAKING: Pikeville Officer Scotty Hamilton Shot Dead in Line of Duty

Currently, the Pikeville officials are on the lookout for a person who shot and killed a Pikeville officer in the line of duty. Here is everything you need to know about the case.

Late Tuesday night, when Police Officer Scotty Hamilton was in the line of duty, he was shot and killed. According to officials, Hamilton was a part of the Pikeville Police Department since 2006.

Hamilton was helping Kentucky State Police with the investigation of a crime in the Hurricane Creek area of Pike County when he was shot. Pikeville’s Mayor Jimmy Carter has asked people to pray for Hamilton’s family.

Scotty Hamilton’s Facebook profile states that he graduated from Big Sandy Community and Technical College and attended Shelby Valley High School. His wife is Chelsi Lawson Hamilton and they have a daughter.

As of now, no other details about the case is available. Currently, there are no suspects or arrests have been made.
