In Harris County, Texas, a man who was caught trying to sell his four-year-old daughter for sex received a prison sentence of 60 years.
Ending a case that went on for nearly three years, Andrew Turley has finally been sentenced to what amounts to a horrible betrayal of his own daughter.
The Case against Turley
Andrew Turley once served in the military and raised to the rank of Second Lieutenant. Now, he is going to be spending at least 45 years behind prison bars for attempting to sell his daughter for sexual activities on Craigslist.
Police first began to investigate when Turley posted an ad on Craigslist entitled “Play with Daddie’s Little Girl.” Over the course of 70 messages, Turley laid out what it would take for someone to sexually abuse his daughter.
Turley’s conditions included $1,000 for two hours with his daughter. He said the child would be drugged with sleeping meds, and stated in one of the 70 email messages he traded with police that his daughter “might be too young for intercourse but everything else was OK.”
Arrest and Conviction
Undercover officers arrived at the home of the mother of Turley’s child, who Turley was in town to visit. He showed the undercover police officer that the child was in her room, cops noted that she seemed groggy and possibly unclothed.
It was at that point the undercover officer placed Turley under arrest. He was charged with trafficking of a child and compelling prostitution of someone under the age of 18. The child’s mother did not know of Turley’s intentions and was never charged.
On March 26, Turley was convicted on both charges with sentencing being 30 years in prison per charge. Currently, he will serve a minimum of 45 years in prison before being eligible for parole.
