48-Year-Old Roger Rust Arrested in West End Ohio Kidnapping Case

An Ohio man is in custody after allegedly attempting to kidnap and sexually assault a woman. We have the latest on the alleged crimes, and the arrest of Roger Rust.

Early Morning Kidnapping

According to the female victim, at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, she was at a bus stop near 1701 Linn Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, when a man in an SUV pulled up and forced her inside of the vehicle.

The kidnapper then headed down I-471 towards Kentucky, before a blown tire forced him to pull over just before I-275.  As he was distracted, the victim attempted to escape into the nearby woods. The kidnapper quickly caught up with her, and reportedly forced her to perform oral sex on him.

The victim escaped again, and this time was able to flag down a Campbell County Sheriff’s deputy along the side of the highway.

 Alleged Kidnapper Roger Rust

The victim identified her alleged kidnapper as Roger Rust, 48, from a photo lineup. The Batavia native is described as being a white male, 5’11”, 280 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, as well as neck tattoos, one of which being a pentagram. A search for Rust quickly began with the FBI and Hamilton County Sheriff’s helicopter assisting officers. He was reportedly captured and arrested later that night.

A search of his vehicle is underway, as police suspect it does not belong to Rust.

According to Rust’s inmate sheet, he is currently being charged with kidnapping. He is set to appear in court Friday morning at 9:00 am. local time. According to Rust’s Facebook page, he is single and lives in Amelia, Ohio.
