Woman Stabbed in West Garfield Park
Chicago Police responded to reports of a stabbing on Tuesday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago’s West Side. The victim, so far identified as a 32-year-old woman, was stabbed multiple times.
According to reports, the woman suffered stab wounds to the face, neck, and chest. She was transported to Stroger Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Authorities said that the victim got into an argument with an 18-year-old woman. The argument, which reportedly occurred at around 2:18 a.m. local time, took place inside a residence in the 4100 block of W. West End Avenue.
Following the argument, the older woman was brutally attacked. The victim survived, but her condition is said to be critical.
No suspects have been taken into custody yet. However, authorities said that a witness identified the suspect.
It’s not known how the 18-year-old, who was arguing with the victim, is related to the incident. Police are currently investigating the case and more details are awaited.
