1 Man Dead, Another Arrested in Palm Desert Shooting

One man is dead and another is in custody after police responded to an emergency at a home in the 74000 block of Dillion Road.

The call of an assault with a deadly weapon came in at about 7:40 p.m. Sunday (April 15), according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies detained one male upon arrival and found another man with a gunshot wound, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Assault Call Turns Deadly

Officials with the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and the Palm Desert Sheriff Station are investigating the case. They are not actively searching for more suspects at this time. The man in custody has not yet been identified. Details about the victim are also unknown at this time.

The home sits within the census-designated area of Sky Valley, more than 35 miles from Palm Springs.
